Cut flowers that are fading, objects of plaster, clay, glass or porcelain laid out here and there, tables richly adorned with fruit and feathers ready to welcome the festivities, others that seem frozen or in decay. The new exhibition at the Valérie Delaunay Gallery, presenting works by some twenty artists, explores "still life" through a variety of media and supports. It examines this genre, which has long been discredited but which is acquiring a predominant place in contemporary art.

色あせた切り花、あちこちに並べられた石膏、粘土、ガラス、磁器などのオブジェ、果物や羽毛などで豪華に飾られたテーブル、凍りついたような、朽ち果てたようなものもあります。Galerie Valerie Delaunayの新作展では、約20名のアーティストによる作品が展示され、「静物」を多様なメディアやサポートを通して探求しています。長い間信用されていなかったこのジャンルが、今では現代美術の中で重要な位置を占めるようになっていることを検証しています。
