While majoring in oil painting and murals at Tokyo University of the Arts, Kosemura became interested in the theme of "time" and video expression with a focus on visual change. She says that the lack of a visual image course at her university at the time triggered/ pushed/ motivated her to go elsewhere to study visual arts, and through conversations with people she met in other fields, she began to take a fresh look at paintings and her view of painting changed. Her video works are based on existing still life paintings, portraits and photographs, and are completed by connecting an enormous number of photographs. The works give the viewer a simple yet refreshing impression that the paintings and screens which are supposed to be stationary start to move. There are two kinds of "time" simultaneously contained in the work. One is the enormous amount of time spent by Kosemura herself, spinning the photographs with each change of movement. The other is the new time that developed as a result of her giving a new story to the original work.

東京芸術大学で油絵や壁画などを専攻していた在学中から「時間」をテーマにした、視覚的な変化に着目した映像表現に興味を抱き始めた小瀬村。彼女は当時自分の通っていた藝大に映像科がなかった事がきっかけで、外部に映像を学びに行き、その中で知り合った他分野の人々との会話を通して、改めて絵画を見直すようになり、絵画の見方に変化が起こったと言う。彼女は当時自分の通っていた藝大に映像科がなかった事がきっかけで、外部に映像を学びに行き、その中で知り合った他分野の人々との会話を通して、改めて絵画を見直すようになり、絵画の見方に変化が起こったと言う。彼女の映像作品は、既存の静物画や人物画、写真を元にし、膨大な量の写真をつないで完成する。作品は止まっているはずの絵画や屏風の画面が動き出すというシンプルでありながら非常に新鮮な感動を観る側に与える。そして、そこには動きの変化ごとに写真を紡いでいくという緻密で膨大な小瀬村自身が費やした「時間」と同時に、元々のオリジナル作品がストーリーを与えられて展開していく新たな「時間」が込められている。
